DIOLkOS for regulators
And who is protecting us ?
Regulators have a challenging job. They exist to protect everyone and keep the world stable and law abiding. And this is important, don’t ever think that it isn’t.
Regulators care about a lot of things but let’s recognize that they have been focused on systemic risk for the last decade or so. Financial Crisis’ events are no picnic for anyone.
Note: Unknown to most consumers but not businesses, regulatory issues such as AML and Sanctions Screening can impact revenue collection, particularly in relation to cross-border management of card payments due to the many participants in the value chain. But jurisdictions must respect their own legislation and that of those nations for which they have signed Treaties.
So these factors are important to the future of global commerce and more specifically, payments that need to move cross-border immediately.
“You do not lead by hitting people over the head. That’s assault, not leadership.”
- Dwight D. Eisenhower
